Numbers to 20

I am learning to recognise numbers to 20.  I can stand on the large number line when the number is called out.  I am also learning the before and after numbers.

" I can jump onto 12 and I can jump onto 13." said Adrian

Phonics

We are learning to listen and record the sounds we can hear.  We are able to blend the sounds altogether.  We can use our phonics at Story writing and Reading time to help us.

"I can write words by sounding it out.  I can robot words at Story writing and Reading time."  said Adrian

Making Pizza

We made pizza as a class, using ingredients that we had grown ourselves. 

These photos show the writing process. We started with the 'draft stage', where students try to use the skills they have been taught. After 'conferencing' with the teacher and 'editing', they produce the 'published work' for their audience to enjoy.

"I can do finger spaces and full stops and capital letters in the right place." said Adrian

Paper bear

We learnt how to draw a teddy bear looking at the different shapes that make up the head and arms. We wrote about our bear and published it onto a paper bag.

Cats

I have been learning how to draw a cat.  I can mix colours together and I can also use charcoal to show shading.

Before and after numbers

I am learning to say the number that comes before and after to 10.  I am placing the peg on the correct answer.

Deep in the compost bin!

As part of our inquiry we have been looking at creatures that dwell in the darkness of our compost bins.

After we observed and handled these creatures, watched video clips and read books about them; we wrote these fabulous stories.

Part of the writing process is presenting our finished work in a way the captures our readers attention. We hope you enjoy viewing our quality work!

Beginning sounds

I am learning to use my beginning sounds to help me work out the words in the story that I don't know.

Maths

I am learning to match the counters to the number.

Adrian said"  I can do numbers up to 10 by myself. I can put counters over the number."

Reading

I am learning to point to the words so I don't miss any out.

Adrian says," I can read the words because I look at the pictures. The pictures help you get a clue. It helps you know about the story."

Story writing

I am learning to write my story by myself.  I can use my word card and my sounds to help me write the words.

Adrian said" I can do finger spaces and full stops.  A word I don't know then I look on the word card."

Scooter day

We are learning to keep ourselves safe when we are on a scooter.

Self Portrait

I am learning to draw a self portrait.  I am able to put all the features in the correct place.

Swimmimg

I am learning to get in the pool safely.  I am gaining confidence to put my head under the water and float on my back.
